Prospect Charles McAdoo was promoted to Triple-A Buffalo after a solid major league spring training.
“It went well,” McAdoo said of MLB camp. “I got to talk to all of the guys in the locker room. I was able to talk to them about things they’ve done, or about things they do to get better, or to feel certain things. Overall, I think it was beneficial and a good experience.”
McAdoo also shared some advice that he received from the MLB players, “They didn’t really share anything baseball related but more about moments and how to navigate them,” McAdoo added. “They shared how they navigated each moment in their careers, and I took what I could from that.”
He’s currently slashing .267/.366/.512 with an OPS of .878 after 86 Triple-A at-bats.
Despite hitting well at the Triple-A level, McAdoo talks about the challenges of facing elite pitching every night.
“They’re really good, so I really have to pick my spot,” explained McAdoo. “I need to stick to a plan. When I don’t, that’s when I get in trouble.”
The prospect feels his approach is going well this season, “I feel it has been pretty good,” stated McAdoo. “I’ve been sticking to my plan more often than not.”
Playing the corner infield spots in 2026, McAdoo talks about his development at first and third base.
“I feel it’s been pretty good,” said McAdoo. “I’m working on securing the ball, making good throws, and I feel that has been translating so far.”
McAdoo is enjoying more than great numbers in Triple-A.
He’s enjoying the facilities available in Buffalo, as well as the camaraderie with his teammates.
“The facilities are sick,” explained McAdoo. “I was told this was going to be a big league facility, and I’m blessed to be here in Triple-A with the Blue Jays.”
“All the guys are awesome,” McAdoo added. “The locker room is great. We have a good time showing up to the field every day.”
Outside of baseball, McAdoo tried a Buffalo staple – wings with blue cheese.
“I haven’t got to many places yet but I did get to one restaurant,” said McAdoo. “I went to Gabriel’s Gate and I tried the wings there. The wings were great. I’m not a big blue cheese guy but their blue cheese didn’t taste like blue cheese. It was good.”
