Chay Yeager Building Off his Time in the Arizona Fall League

Right-handed pitcher Chay Yeager logged some extra innings in the Arizona Fall League after the completion of the 2025 regular season.

“The AFL was a lot of fun,” explained Yeager. “Arizona is beautiful. It was nice to see what the next level of pitching would be like for me. It took me a little while to settle in but once I did I felt I did pretty well.”

Yeager was invited to the AFL after he pitched 55 2/3 innings between High-A and Double-A.

Finishing the regular season with a 2.75 ERA, 64 K’s, and a WHIP of 1.01; Yeager talks about the differences between High-A and Double-A.

“The talent just keeps getting better and better as you move up,” Yeager said of his jump to Double-A. “I’m getting better and better too, I’m learning new stuff each day. New things I can work on, new things I can fix, so I like the competition and competing at the higher level.”

The righty feels he saw the best of the Double-A level in Arizona, “I think a lot of the hitters I faced in the AFL were definitely the best hitters on the Double-A rosters,” stated Yeager. “I faced Charlie Condon and all of those kind of guys. It’s like a very high level Double-A team, if not a Triple-A team with all of those guys. The two best hitters of each Double-A team are going to the fall league. The competition is very good.”

Yeager uses a two-pitch mix of: a 4-seam fastball and a gyro slider.

“I’m just trying to home in on those two pitches,” explained Yeager. “I’m just trying to make them as perfect and consistent as I can.”

Keep on grinding in 2026, Chay Yeager!
