Eddie Micheletti at the plate for High-A Vancouver

Outfielder Eddie Micheletti Jr. is putting up big numbers with High-A Vancouver. Micheletti, who has 31 extra base hits so far in 2025; credits his production to the work he put in last off-season.

“I dedicated myself to kind of getting stronger and more explosive,” stated Micheletti. “I wanted to get quicker and more agile on my feet for the outfield. Taken care of my arm, strengthening my rotational power, I think it has paid off a lot at the plate. I think it got to a point where I worked out so much, and my swing got so much faster that I had to recalibrate it to let the ball get deeper because I was rotating so fast in the zone.”

Slashing .227/.364/.458 with an OPS of .822 after 260 at-bats; Micheletti talks about the adjustments he has made at the plate while facing High-A pitching.

“It’s getting comfortable facing high velocity pitching and still trusting going backside with it and left center,” explained Micheletti. “I’m learning to not cheat on it, just simplify my swing. I’m working with my hitting coach to make sure it’s a swing that’ll work for me moving forward. The approach is seeing a fastball middle-away and take it backside and adjust to the off-speed.”

Splitting time between LF and RF, Micheletti feels he’s developing well in the outfield.

“I feel I’m developing great out there,” said Micheletti. “I’ve been working with my outfield coaches. In spring training, I was working with all of them, it has gone well and is paying off a lot. My reads are so much better, my arm is so much better, so I’m going to keep working on it and improving.”

The prospect doesn’t see much of a difference between the two positions, “There isn’t much of a difference,” Micheletti added. “Other than with lefties it’s going to fade a little bit more, instead of a hook to right field.”

Micheletti has enjoyed his time playing in Vancouver so far, “My favorite part is when the fans start the Eddie chant,” stated Micheletti. “It’s unbelievable having 6000 or 7000 fans chanting your name. That’s my favorite part.”

Hopefully one day they’ll do the Eddie chant in Toronto!
