Left-handed pitcher Adam Macko is back on the mound for Triple-A Buffalo after recovering from a meniscus tear in his left knee.
“It feels great to be back,” explained Macko. “I feel so grateful to be on the field again and competing in Triple-A. That was always the light at the end of the tunnel through rehab, so now that I’m here, I’m just soaking it all in.”
Prior to his injury, Macko was making a name for himself in big league camp this spring.
The lefty knows he can compete at the major league level.
“I know I can get big league hitters out with the arsenal that I have right now even if it’s not the best some days,” stated Macko. “But the difference maker for me will be, being able to land the changeup for strikes constantly and being comfortable using it in any count. I have that feel with my slider and my fastball. The curveball is coming around the past two years but finding room for the changeup in there will be a focus of mine this year.”
Macko is constantly fine-tuning his pitches to make them better, too, “I’m always working on getting better here and there,” Macko added. “I feel really good about where my fastball is at and after I finish my build up period and my arm is conditioned for 80+ pitches, my velocity should be back to where it was in late 2023 and early spring this year before I went down with the meniscus, so I’m excited about that.”
Pitching 24 1/3 innings so far in 2025 split between Buffalo and the FCL; Macko has racked up 34 K’s and has a WHIP of 1.15.
Welcome back, Adam Macko!
