Right-handed pitcher Kevin Gowdy found a new home within the Toronto Blue Jays’ organization.

“I’ve been loving it here so far,” said Gowdy. “It’s a great team culture. Everybody is trying to get better together. I’ve really enjoyed it here so far.”

Currently in his fourth organization, Gowdy talks about his progression through pro ball.

“I think every organization is different,” stated Gowdy. “I think as you progress as a player in your career, you take little pieces of information along your journey, and you find stuff that works for you.”

Pitching 17 2/3 innings in 2025; Gowdy has racked up 20 K’s and has a WHIP of 1.53.

The righty uses a four-pitch mix of: a 4-seam fastball, a sinking fastball, a slider, and a sweeper.

Gowdy likes to work off his sinker, “I usually work sinker down in the zone,” explained Gowdy. “I work my 4-seam up in the zone. The sinker keeps the hitters off-balance.”

The righty uses his two breaking balls in different ways.

“I like the differentiation between the two,” said Gowdy. “I like using them in different counts against different hitters.”

Beginning his career as a starter, Gowdy later transitioned to the bullpen, a role he really enjoys.

“I love the bullpen,” stated Gowdy. “I love the adrenaline that comes with it. You hear your name, a hitter or two later, you’re in the game. I love it.”

Be sure to follow Kevin Gowdy, as he continues to enjoy his new organization.
