Outfielder Jace Bohrofen has made the jump up to Double-A New Hampshire this season after a solid 2024 season with High-A Vancouver. Bohrofen, who slashed .254/.364/.453 after 409 at-bats a year ago; is adjusting to the pitching he’s currently facing in Double-A.

“It’s a lot more competitive here,” said Bohrofen. “I think we have a good group here that can win a lot of ballgames. I’m excited for me personally. It will be a good challenge this year, facing a lot of good pitching. I’m excited to see how well I adapt and make adjustments throughout the year.”

“The Double-A pitchers all have really good stuff,” Bohrofen added. “They all use their breaking balls more than they do in High-A, so it’s getting used to their pitch sequencing and their off-speed stuff that is going to be an adjustment. But I feel once I get some more at-bats at this level, I’ll be able to make the adjustment and put good at-bats together.”

Bohrofen has appeared in three games so far for Double-A New Hampshire, picking up one hit in 12 at-bats.

The prospect feels his plate approach has stayed consistent throughout his playing career.

“It has been pretty much the same my entire playing career,” explained Bohrofen. “Just seeing pitches, trying to lay off the good pitches, and hit the mistakes. I try to keep my approach towards left-center field. I feel that gives me the best opportunity to hit the fastball and adapt to the breaking ball.”

Bohrofen talks about his range in the outfield, “I feel it’s great,” stated Bohrofen. “I’m focusing on my first step quickness, getting good reads, and getting my body moving in the right direction this year.”
