Braydon Fisher Becoming a Better Pitcher in the Toronto Blue Jays’ Organization

Right-handed pitcher Braydon Fisher feels that he has become a better pitcher since joining the Toronto Blue Jays’ organization this past June.

“The Blue Jays’ coaching staff have definitely helped me with becoming a better pitcher,” stated Fisher. “They’ve helped me with how to attack in certain counts and where I can take my shots out of the zone.”

Another thing that’s helping Fisher was bringing back his cutter. The righty used a cutter earlier in his pro career, as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ organization but did away with it for a little bit.

“I’m not currently working on any new pitches,” said Fisher. “I added a cutter towards the end of the 2024 season, but I had thrown that in the past.”

With the reemergence of his cutter, Fisher now uses five pitches in his repertoire, which includes: a 4-seam fastball, a 2-seam fastball, a slider, a curveball, and a cutter.

Pitching 53 2/3 innings out of the bullpen in 2024; Fisher racked up 77 K’s and opposing hitters batted .264 against him.

Fisher enjoyed his time with Double-A New Hampshire and Triple-A Buffalo in 2024, “My biggest takeaway from pitching in New Hampshire and Buffalo was the ball does not fly like it does in the Texas League or the PCL,” explained Fisher. “So, being in the middle of the zone wasn’t as much of a threat.”

Be sure to follow Braydon Fisher’s progress next season, as he continues to work towards a major league call-up.
