Prospect Charles McAdoo came over to the Toronto Blue Jays organization on July 30th in a trade that saw Isiah Kiner-Falefa heading to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

“It has been really good so far,” McAdoo said of his new organization. “All of the guys are really cool and have made the transition really easy.”

“It was pretty cool to be traded for IKF,” McAdoo added. “It hasn’t changed anything in my game. I feel I’m trying to do everything the same, who I was traded for doesn’t change how I work.”

Currently slashing .305/.392/.523 with an OPS of .915 after 367 at-bats split between High-A and Double-A; McAdoo talks about his approach at the plate.

“It has been pretty good,” explained McAdoo. “It has been rather consistent; you have to change your plan a bit when facing certain pitchers though.”

McAdoo has noticed a difference in the pitching in Double-A, “The pitchers have a lot more control with what they throw in Double-A,” stated McAdoo. “They’re a lot smarter on how to get you out, so you can’t miss opportunities.”

Known for his versatility in the field, McAdoo has played five positions so far in pro ball.

Appearing in games at first base, third base, and right field since moving over to the Blue Jays’ organization, McAdoo takes pride in his ability to move around the diamond.

“I like that the people are confident putting me anywhere in the field,” said McAdoo. “I feel like a free-range dog in the outfield running around the grass and going after balls.”

Welcome, Charles McAdoo!
