Day 3 of the MLB draft will begin today at 2 PM EST. In honor of the third day of the draft, hear what five of the 10 players the Blue Jays’ selected on Day 3 a year ago had to say about their draft day experience.

RHP Grant Rogers selected in the 11th round (334th overall) out of McNeese State:

“It was a bit hectic,” explained Rogers. “I was told day two, but I’m very blessed and fortunate to be taken day three. It was very stressful getting a lot of calls, not knowing where I was going to go but I’m so glad the Blue Jays’ picked me, I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.”

RHP Chay Yeager selected in the 12th round (364th overall) out of Pasco-Hernando State College:

“It was kind of unreal,” stated Yeager. “It was a crazy experience from where I was at in JUCO to going straight to pro ball.”

1B/OF Brennan Orf selected in the 13th round (394th overall) out of Southern Illinois University:

“The draft experience was exciting and unpredictable,” said Orf. “As a player, you know minimum information about how the draft board will shake up and when or if you will be picked up. It was exciting on day three being selected by the Blue Jays’ and I was relieved to get the chance to play professionally.”

C/1B Jackson Hornung selected in the 16th round (484th overall) out of Skidmore College:

“My draft experience was very surreal,” explained Hornung. “I was driving to a summer ball game when it happened.”

LHP Kai Peterson selected in the 20th round (604th overall) out of Sierra College:

“It was a pretty cool moment,” stated Peterson. “I thought it was special, it was something I’ve always wanted my whole life.”
