Right-handed pitcher Nolan Perry is focusing on three areas this off-season to help him prepare for a bigger workload in 2024.

“Obviously, I’m trying to get stronger and gain some weight,” said Perry. “I’m also really focusing on my rotational speed – trying to speed that up.”

Pitching 38 1/3 innings a year ago in the FCL; Perry finished the year with 51 K’s and a WHIP of 1.62.

Perry felt 2023 was a good learning year, “I thought it was a pretty good year,” stated Perry. “It was a good learning year. It was good to see what I’ll be facing pretty much in the upcoming years. Having all of the coaches and the great facility down there was nice.”

Currently using a four-pitch mix of: a 4-seam fastball, a curveball, a splitter, and a slider; Perry talks about how he works off his fastball.

“I try to work my fastball up in the zone,” explained Perry. “It has some good vertical break to it and I usually try to work something like a slider off of it. I feel that my slider tunnels pretty well off my fastball.”

Keep it up, Nolan Perry!
