Prospect Brennan Orf brings a patient plate approach to the Toronto Blue Jays’ organization.

“My approach is patient at the plate,” explained Orf. “I like to walk and see pitches. I want the pitchers to pitch in the zone and I do not want to help them out by swinging at their pitches. I have some power and try to go gap to gap with my swings.”

A productive hitter in college, Orf slashed .351/.506/.759 after 191 at-bats for Southern Illinois in 2023.

He showed some power as he recorded 38 extra base hits which included: 17 doubles, two triples, and 19 home runs.

“I describe myself as a player who uses all fields at the plate,” Orf added. “I like to see pitches, and take what is given to me. I’m solid in the outfield or at first base but my upside is more hitting than anything.”

Entering pro ball as a corner outfielder, Orf feels he has good range, “My range is solid in the outfield,” said Orf. “I’m quick and can accelerate quickly so that helps me get good jumps on balls.”

Welcome, Brennan Orf!
