Outfielder Jaden Rudd is in the midst of his first full season of professional baseball with Low-A Dunedin. Rudd, who spent the past two seasons in the FCL is looking forward to completing the 132-game schedule.

“I’m looking forward to getting a taste of ‘true’ professional baseball in my first full season,” stated Rudd. “The length of the season is a fundamental part of what makes this game so great, and I’m looking forward to truly see what the life of a professional baseball player becomes.”

Currently slashing .249/.404/.358 with an OPS of .762 after 173 at-bats with Low-A Dunedin; Rudd is putting in consistent work to develop a big league approach at the plate.

“I’m obviously working really hard every single day to try to develop and eventually reach my ceiling at the plate,” explained Rudd. “Like anything else, there are ups and downs, there are changes, and there are opportunities to learn. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither were big league bats, but I feel very confident in myself and in the path that I am on.”

Rudd is primarily playing center field this season and he likes the impact that it allows him to have on the game, “My favorite part about playing CF is that it gives me an opportunity to have a big impact in the game, regardless how I swing it,” said Rudd. “CF is a leadership position, and I take pride in that. I love that I can go out on defense and make a play or move the outfield around in a way to save runs and win games.”
