Outfielder Cam Eden is enjoying his first season of Triple-A baseball as a member of the Buffalo Bisons. Eden, who is currently slashing .294/.368/.382 with an OPS of .750; after 34 at-bats in Buffalo is looking for consistency at the plate to make the jump up to the big leagues.

“I think if I could constantly put the ball in play and hit for a little more average,” Eden said. “I have a little bit of power that I trust will come. But I feel like if I could constantly hit the ball hard at the plate that would help me there.”

Eden got a taste of big-league life this spring in Dunedin.

Invited to take part in major league camp, Eden gained valuable information about what it takes from Blue Jays’ outfielder George Springer.

“I had a great chat with George Springer,” explained Eden. “George said the bat comes and goes, you’re going to do well hitting sometimes – other times you’re not; but your glove on the defensive side should always remain the same. That was my biggest takeaway from camp so this year I’m focused on playing great defense no matter what I’m doing at the plate.”

Appearing in games at all three outfield positions in 2023; Eden likes playing in center field the best.

“I definitely feel the most comfortable in center,” stated Eden. “I feel you get a little more freedom to run and chase down balls in center. It’s definitely more fun for me.”

And playing in center field allows him to showcase his speed a little more, “Yeah, it definitely showcases the speed aspect.” Eden added.

Be sure to follow Cam Eden’s season in Buffalo, as he continues to showcase his defense, offense, and speed.
