Left-handed pitcher Adam Macko is looking forward to joining his new organization next season. Macko, who came over to the Blue Jays’ in the Teoscar Hernandez trade with the Mariners’ is excited for his new opportunity.
“I’m looking forward to meeting new people,” said Macko. “I’m also looking forward to learning different perspectives on how to improve my career and implementing those to the game.”
Pitching 38 1/3 innings for the Everett AquaSox this season; Macko recorded 60 K’s and maintained a WHIP of 1.38 during the 2022 regular season.
Logging an additional 13 1/3 innings for Peoria of the AFL this off-season; Macko maintained a 9.5 K/9 ratio.
Macko currently uses a four-pitch mix of: a 4-seam fastball, a slider, a curveball, and a changeup.
The lefty really likes having two breaking balls, “Having two good breaking balls provides me with different ways I can put hitters away,” explained Macko. “It gives them something else to think about which takes them off my changeup and fastball as well.”
Macko is also happy with the development of his changeup since turning pro.
“My changeup has developed a great deal since entering pro ball and I’m really happy with the progress I have made with it in the past year,” stated Macko. “It’s slowly starting to become another weapon for me.”
Be sure to follow Adam Macko’s progress next season, as he continues to develop his game in the Toronto Blue Jays’ organization.
